A Manchester United footballer with Mayo roots netted her first goal for the club last weekend.
Aoife Mannion, whose mother Kathleen hails from Mayo, was amongst the scorers as the Red Devils put six past Wolverhampton Wanderers in the FA Women’s Cup on Saturday evening.

Her 52nd-minute strike was the third of the game, as she tapped in from close range. Her uncle, Pat Kelly, previously played Gaelic football for Mayo and played in the 2004 All-Ireland Final.
Mannion was named in the Republic of Ireland Women’s National Team alongside fellow Mayo descendant Melisa Felis for the upcoming UEFA Nations League clashes with Turkey and Slovenia.
