A preview of Mayo’s All-Ireland Minor Semi-final against Tyrone; Will John Maughan be the next Mayo manager?
AUDIO Football Podcast #25: Mayo v Tyrone All-Ireland Minor Semi-final preview; John Maughan new favourite for Mayo manager
The prelude to our preview of Sunday's All-Ireland Minor Semi-final against Tyrone is a look back to Mayo's last All-Ireland Minor title. Sean Rice recalls the 1985 side that defeated Cork in a low scoring decider. As was the case in '85, Mayo are rank outsiders once more against a formidable Tyrone outfit and Sean and Mike Finnerty preview the game.
Mike takes us through the latest news on the hunt for a senior manager. John Maughan has emerged as the new bookies’ favourite, but Mick O’Dwyer, James Horan, Peter Ford and more are still in the running.
There is also news on the Mayo over-40s offer to represent the county at the FBD League final in New York, and Edwin McGreal sets a new record for the briefest ever visit to the podcast.
