Mayo five looking to drive Connacht to glory

Clara Barrett and her Connacht colleagues take on Ulster in Galway on Saturday

Five Mayo women have been named in the Connacht squad for Saturday's pivotal Interprovincial Championship encounter with Ulster in The Sportsground at 2.30pm.

Lily Brady retains her place at hooker, Eva McCormack comes into the second row while Clara Barrett and Ava Ryder will look to catch fire in the backs and Niamh O'Grady will make her entrance off the bench.

The match with the Ulster women is hugely significant as victory will send the western women into the Interpro final against Munster. The Connacht women come into Saturday's clash after an exciting win over Leinster in the opening round and a chastening defeat against reigning champions Munster.

Victory on Saturday will secure Lyndon Jones' squad a place in the decider against the Munster women, but the team in green will be taking nothing for granted against a talented Ulster outfit.

The match will be shown live in TG4

The Connacht team and replacements are as follows: Meabh Deely, Ava Ryder, Orla Dixon, Shannon Touhey, Clara Barrett, Nicole Fowley (C), Olivia Haverty; Shannon Heapes, Lily Brady, Dearbhla Canty, Sonia McDermott, Eva McCormack, Orla Fenton, Beibhinn Gleeson, Karly Tierney

Replacements: Stacy Hanley, Grainne O'Loughlin, Niamh O'Grady, Faith Oviawe, Mollie Starr, Kayla Waldron, Cliodhna O'Sullivan, Laoise McGonagle
