Tom Padden, has been appointed manager of Lincoln Women FC.

THERE is excitement in Belmullet this week as news spreads that Tom Padden has been appointed manager of Lincoln Women FC, the progressive English League side with big ambitions.

The new manager is son of Martin Padden, from Ardmore on the Mullet Peninsula and has been making a name for himself in the game in recent years. Currently working with Nottingham Forest as Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Lead, he has joined Lincoln Women after a very successful stint as manager of Gainsborough Trinity Women where he is credited with guiding the team to Tier 5 survival and securing a place in the cup final.

The holder of a UEFA B coaching license, Padden has previously worked with the Lincoln City Foundation and as a scout with Sheffield United.

The man with strong Belmullet links says he's excited to take on his new role with Lincoln Women and believes the club can rise through the divisions and make a real statement in English football in the next couple of seasons.

His progression will be watched very closely by his wide circle of family and friends in Erris and all across Mayo.

Lincoln Women FC was formed after a collaboration with Lincoln City FC and Lincoln United FC.
