It is the decision everyone involved with Mayo FC has been waiting for.
Since the new club was founded in 2023, it's been the goal to be included in a newly formed third tier league, called FAI National League.
And today, Friday December 19, 2025, will be remembered as an early Christmas gift for Mayo soccer supporters.
The FAI have just confirmed, that Mayo FC will be admitted to the new tier of the League of Ireland which will come into effect in 2027.
