In Carramore

Crossmolina were too strong for Manulla and leapfrogged them in the table with this emphatic win.

Matthew Williams drove a free kick directly to the net to put the visitors in front at the break. Oisín Deane, who came off the bench, got two, to put the contest beyond Manulla, and another substitute, Edward Gough, added a fourth at the death.

Darragh Duffy set up Deane for his first, and the young striker had two goes at it before he scored. Deane’s second came from a good shot as Manulla struggled to clear a corner.  Deane turned provider for Gough’s strike.

Both sides needed the win, due to their perilous league positions.

Crossmolina were hungrier and more creative than their hosts, and once they got the second goal the result was never in doubt. The win moves them out of the relegation zone.

This was Manulla’s eighth straight Super League defeat and their eleventh in a row in all competitions. They are struggling to get players and lacked creativity in this encounter.

They never looked like scoring, and worryingly, drop into the bottom two of the Super League with this defeat.
