MAYO is celebrating this afternoon after Lacken's Caelan Doris led Ireland to a record-breaking victory over England in Twickenham. The men in green went into third game of their Six Nations Championship campaign as heavy underdogs, but blew England off the pitch with a superb display of attacking, disciplined rugby.
The half-backs Jack Crowley and Jamison Gibson Park were excellent as was Stuart McCloskey in the pack.
Ireland were 22-7 clear at the break and produced an excellent second half display to win the game 42-21.
It was a record winning margin and the highest scoreline ever achieved by an Irish team in London and a Mayo man was the leader of the group.
