A rejuvenated Minis rugby team in Mayo. Ballinrobe Rugby Club have rebranded their Minis section as the 'Bears' today.

The mini-rugby sector will have its own unique identity and name within the club. It will also have its own newly designed playing gear and crest which will be available to purchase from our online club shop.

It was a very proud day for the club as they paid tribute to the sterling work done by club members and coaches in promoting and developing the mini-rugby sector. It is testimony to the skill and dedication of a team of volunteer coaches through the years that numbers in our mini- rugby sector have grown year on year. Last year the club had almost 140 registered players at this age level, for children aged 6-12.

This growth has been overseen by the club’s Director of Rugby Brendan Flanagan aided by the Youth & Mini Coordinators (positions currently held by Caroline Place & Shane Watson).

Recent years have also seen a huge increase in the number of girls taking up the sport of rugby and this trend is reflected in our increased mini-rugby numbers.

The Bears are always looking for new members. The club invites everyone to have a look at their social media channels. Also  the Ballinrobe Bears will get their chance to roar at their first blitz next week against Castlebar.
