Take a break and find the good life
An alternative option to the usual mid-week break is on offer at The Organic Centre, Rossinver, Co Leitrim. The centre is offering a five-day course ‘Learn How to Live The Good Life’, promising that those who attend will come away with skills that will last a lifetime. The Organic Centre can be found in a quiet, idyllic pastoral setting nestled at the foot of the Rossinver Braes on the banks of Lough Melvin – the perfect spot to get away from it all. Now in it’s sixth year, the course, which is running from Monday, July 20, to Friday July 24, offers sessions on growing vegetables organically, growing and using herbs, growing fruit for the home, making yoghurt and soft cheeses, baking and cooking with wholemeal and storing and preserving. All this is complemented with an introduction to yoga and relaxation techniques, a lecture on sustainable building, a seaweed walk on a local beach and a visit to a local organic farm. The Grass Roof Café at The Organic Centre will cater for breakfast, a tasty vegetarian lunch and dinner every day. The five days costs just €700, and a detailed programme is available on request. Accommodation is not included, but for local eco-accommodation, have a look at the options listed on the Greenbox website, www.greenbox.ie, or else ask the centre for an accommodation list. For further details, contact The Organic Centre on 071 9854338, e-mail info@theorganiccentre.ie or visit www.theorganiccentre.ie.
