Mayo Cycling team to participate in 24-Hour Ultra Event for first time

The "Wild Mayo Ultra" quartet: Charlie Kelly, Darragh Delaney, Sponsors Eamon Marrey & Noel Kelly and Colin Loughney.

For the first time a Mayo Cycling Team competes at the Mondello 24-Hour Ultra Cycle Event tomorrow (Saturday, June 22).

Mayo will proudly enter a four-person team in competition. Unlike the LE Mans 24hr in France, pedal power will replace horse power at the Irish event in Kildare. The Team is sponsored by Tyres R Us Westport and Marrey Bikes Ballinrobe.
The "Wild Mayo Ultra" quartet consists of Darragh Delaney, Colin Loughney (Western Lakes CC), and Noel and Charlie Kelly (Westport Covey Wheelers) manager Noel Mulroy.
The team aims to surpass the 800 km mark within 24 hours, completing over 250 laps on the 3.4 km international race track. This ambitious goal underscores their dedication and the robust support from their sponsors.
The event starts at 12noon on Saturday finishing 24hrs later, it can be tracked live on www.raceface.ie
