Minister Alan Dillon TD has welcomed confirmation that the school bus route serving the Boleyglass and Derryfadda area in the Bofeenaun region will be extended for the coming school year.

The service will now begin at Fahys Cottage in Boleyglass, travel through Derryfadda and then join the existing route at Bofeenaun Church.

Minister Dillon said: “This is very welcome news for local families who have been raising concerns about school transport for some time.”

“The extended route will make the daily journey easier for children and parents, while also helping to reduce concerns about children travelling or waiting along busy roads.”

“I am delighted to see this finally resolved after numerous engagements. I want to thank Minister Michael Moynihan and everyone involved, including Bus Eireann for listening to the families and getting the new route in place.”
