Pic: An Garda Síochana Mayo
Mayo Gardaí were called into action yesterday (Monday, August 18) as they seized a pair of vehicles in the county for not having valid insurance.
The seizures occurred in the east of the county, where a red Audi A3 and a black Vauxhall were stopped and seized by the Mayo roads policing unit.
The Gardaí were using Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) technology as well as Active Mobility Technology to detect that both vehicles had no insurance at the time.
The Vauxhaull's insurance appeared to have expired some four years ago, with the disc reading for May of 2021, while one of the drivers also had no valid driving licence.
Both vehicles were subsequently seized, with court proceedings set to follow.
