Four people taken to hospital following restaurant fire in Wicklow

The scene was preserved for technical examination yesterday which has since been completed

Four people have been hospitalised in Bray, Co Wicklow, following a fire at a well-known restaurant in the town. 

Gardaí assisted emergency services at the scene of a fire which had taken place on a business premises located along Castle Street. It is understood that this incident occurred at a Chinese restaurant on Tuesday afternoon, July 15.

Gardaí have since confirmed that four people were brought to hospital for treatment of injuries sustained. It is not yet known whether those hospitalised were staff, customers or both. 

The scene was preserved for technical examination yesterday which has since been completed. The Health and Safety Authority  has been notified of what has been described by Wicklow Sinn Féin TD John Brady as a "serious incident."
