Man arrested by Gardaí on suspicion of human trafficking offences

The suspect was arrested in Co Monaghan 

A man in his 50s has been arrested this morning (June 9) as part of an ongoing investigation into human trafficking.
According to Gardaí, the arrest is connected with investigations into sexual exploitation and forced criminality. 
Gardaí attached to the investigation and co-ordination unit at the Garda National Protective Services Bureau arrested the suspect in Co Monaghan on suspicion of human trafficking offences.

He is currently detained under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at a Garda Station in the north eastern region.

An Garda Síochána appeal to anyone who may be the victim of human trafficking for sexual exploitation to come forward and speak with them at any Garda Station in person or by phone, or by calling the freephone Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.

Anyone that has information related to human trafficking for sexual or labour exploitation is encouraged to contact Gardaí.
