Gardaí share bone-chilling warning of risk sitting this way in a car

Gardaí urge passengers not to sit this way with an image of an Xray of a passenger in aftermath of a crash

Gardaí share bone-chilling warning of risk sitting this one way in a car
An Garda Síochána have issued a chilling warning to road users, especially passengers about the dangers of sitting with their feet up on the dashboard.
In a post shared to social media, Kilkenny gardaí showed an image shared with them by a Welsh police officer involved in casualty reduction, they said: "It's not a new image but never gets old. It's an Xray of a passenger in a car that had her feet up on the dashboard when a collision occurred."
They continued: "When a collision occurs, it's not the speed does the damage but slowing down. For safety systems to function properly in modern cars, you need to be seated correctly with your approved restraint functioning properly.
"You need to have your seatbelt on correctly, the seat angled correctly, your feet where they should be and all your passengers likewise."
The post concluded: "Save our Paramedics and Medical personnel from seeing sights like this. Save yourself from suffering them."
