RTÉ has unveiled an exclusive first look at the new Dancing with the Stars promo trailer for the eighth series, providing a glimpse into the glitz, glamour and fireworks that await in the new year. Dancing with the Stars returns on Sunday January 5 on RTÉ One and RTÉ Player.
The new series promises to fill Sunday evenings with glitter and spellbinding dance performances as eleven well-known figures team up with eleven professional dancers to perform a live routine every week.
The eleven celebrities vying for the glitterball trophy this year are: Olympic gold medalist and gymnast Rhys McClenaghan, Ireland AM presenter Elaine Crowley and celebrity chef Kevin Dundon.

Actress Yasmin Seky, social media star Kayleigh Trappe and meteorologist Joanna Donnelly will also participate in the series alongside Eurovision singer Mickey Joe Harte.
Finally, more contestants include Irish taekwondo Olympian Jack Woolley, comedian Gearóid Farrelly, Mrs. Brown’s Boys actor Danny O’Carroll and former Miss Universe Ireland, Aishah Akorede.
Four new professional dancers, Maciej Zieba, Rebecca Scott, Daniela Roze andAlex Vladimirov join returning dancers Robert Rowiński, Simone Arena, Ervinas Merfeldas, Laura Nolan, Stephen Vincent, Denys Samson and Salome Chachua.
The glitz, glamour, and nail-biting competition will all unfold when the new season returns to RTÉ One and RTÉ Player next month.
Dancing with the Stars will be hosted by Jennifer Zamparelli and Doireann Garrihy again this season. The two-time Dancing with the Stars winner and professional dancer Karen Byrne will join the judging panel in 2025 alongside longstanding judges Loraine Barry, Brian Redmond and Arthur Gourounlian.
The new series of Dancing with the Stars begins on RTÉ One and RTÉ Player at 6:30pm on Sunday January 5.
