Heartbreaking tributes have poured in for a "much-loved and adored son" after his car hit a wall in a Co Cork crash on Sunday.
Jason Hegarty, from Ahakista, Bantry in West Cork, was found dead alongside his car on Monday after the single-vehicle crash on the N71 at Letterlickey, between Ballydehob and Bantry.
Emergency services were alerted at around 9am after the car was discovered overturned near the N71 road. No other vehicles were involved.
Mr Hegarty was pronounced dead at the scene. His body was brought to Cork University Hospital (CUH) where a post-mortem examination took place.
Jason is described as the "much loved and adored" son of Tadhg and Mary, brother of Colm, Chloe and the late baby Rachel, dearest grandson of Agnes (Hegarty), Mary (McCarthy), the late Joe and John, nephew of the late Caroline (McCarthy).
Dozens of tributes have already been left, with many describing Jason as a "kind and gentle soul".
One condolence read that it was "absolutely heartbreaking news to hear of such a young life lost".
Another said Jason "touched the lives of many people, a kind-hearted friend".
His remains will repose at Coakley’s Funeral Home, Chapel Street, Bantry on Thursday, October 24, from 5pm to 8pm with vigil prayers at 8pm.
A requiem mass will be held on Friday, October 25, at 2pm at Star of the Sea Church, Kilcrohane, followed by burial in the New Cemetery, Durrus.
