New upgrade to the eGate facility at Dublin Airport is set to be rolled out, as contract is signed for upgrades to the system.

Minister for Justice Helen McEntee has announced that the new contract to upgrade the Automated Boarder Control facility will be rolled out to the existing gates at Dublin Airport.

The Minister said: "My Department is working to modernise its immigration processes and provide more efficient services for customers"

She talked about the effectiveness of the service that is available at the Airport "Utilising technology like Automated Border Control eGates is paramount to delivering a secure, effective, and modern Immigration Service."

Talking then about the how the service will keep the airport moving smoothly "Securing this contract means we can continue to process, Irish, EU and other eligible travellers, as swiftly as possible, while conducting stringent security checks on passengers and their documents."
