Over 5,000 honey bees were removed from the grounds of Dublin Airport on Sunday amid unusual scenes.

In a social media post, Dublin Airport said it was "well and truly buzzing" on Sunday as the frequent flyers were dealt with.

"As well as seeing off 120,000 passengers, the team - with the help of a local beekeeper - acted to safely collect and remove around 5,000 honey bees who had taken up residence near the taxi rank at T1," they added.
