Due to' electric shock' fears, the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) has issued an urgent recall for a popular beauty tool sold by two leading Irish retailers.
The ENVIE Triple Barrel Curling Tongs has been pulled from shelves in TK Maxx and Homesense stores across Ireland due to an "incorrect fuse in the plug" leading to the risk of electric shock.
"The product has a risk of electric shock due to an incorrect fuse in the plug, which could break or fail to protect the product from the damaging effects of a power surge," the CCPC said in a statement.
"The brand is ENVIE. The model number is EV03HW. The batch number is 020623. The product code shown on the price sticker and the receipt will be either 102433, 102456, 102466, 102473 or 113869. The barcode is unknown."
The product was on sale in TK Maxx and Homesense stores between August 2023 and January 2024, and there are approximately 23 affected products in the Republic of Ireland.
Customers are advised to stop using the product immediately and return it to any TK Maxx or Homesense store for a full refund.
