Over €20,000 raised to mend Waterford pooch's broken heart

Mick suffers from a condition affecting his heart

Over €20,000 raised to mend Waterford pooch's broken heart

Over €20,000 have been raised to save a Waterford pooch suffering from congestive heart failure.

Mick was diagnosed with congestive heart failure earlier this year. His owners have appealed for the public's assistance to help save their furry friend as they got in contact with a surgeon in France.

"Without life-saving surgery, his prognosis is bleak, but we have found an incredible team of doctors, and we now have a ray of hope. We have been in contact with a surgeon in France who can carry out the heart surgery he needs, but it is going to be very, very expensive. We are putting all the money we have into getting Mick to France, but we need a little help," said David Manser, Mick's owner.
In 2017, the family adopted Mick after his former owners, an elderly couple, were both suffering from Alzheimer.
As David's family has been through grief over the last couple of years, Mick has been there to put a smile on their face.
As the family reached their fundraiser goal, David expressed his gratitude.
"We’re just blown away. Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts. Mick has his first appointment with his surgeon tomorrow and without all your incredible kindness we just wouldn’t be here," he said.
