GARDAÍ are carrying out investigations following the discovery of a body at a house in County Tipperary.

A spokesperson for An Garda Síochána said that the body of a man was discovered at a property in Ballycrana, Kilross, Tipperary - close to the Limerick border - shortly after 4am on Wednesday.

“The state pathologist has been notified and a post-mortem examination will be arranged, the results of which will determine the course of the garda investigation,” the spokesperson said.

The body remains at the scene, which has been preserved at this time for a forensic and technical examination.

“Any person with any information that can assist gardaí with this investigation are asked to contact Tipperary Town garda station on 062 80670, the garda confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any garda station,” the spokesperson added.

The townland of Ballycrana sits on the Limerick/Tipperary border, less than five kilometres from the village of Galbally.
