The N5 is closed between Ballyvary and Bohola following a road traffic accident.
Mayo County Council has confirmed that diversions are in place while the road remains closed.
Westbound traffic is being diverted through Kiltimagh and Balla, while eastbound motorists are being redirected between Ballyvary and Manulla.
Motorists are advised to follow the diversion routes and allow additional time for their journeys.
