A SECOND person has died in a fatal collision on Irish roads in just two days.
Gardaí are currently at the scene of a fatal single-car crash that occurred at approximately 1am on Monday, June 10 on Main Street, Ratoath, Co Meath.
The driver and sole occupant of the car involved, a woman in her 60s, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The road remains closed with local diversions in place.
Her body has since been removed to the mortuary at Our Lady's Hospital, Navan, where a post-mortem examination will be arranged.
Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.
Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the Main Street area of Ratoath between 12:45am and 1am this Monday are asked to contact gardaí on 01 8010600, or on 1800 666 111.
This is the second fatal road crash in just over 24 hours, as another person aged in their 20s was pronounced dead following a collision in Moville, Co Donegal shortly after 1:30 am on Sunday, June 9.
