There is great excitement in Ballina RFC after their U16 Girls squad were invited to be Grand Marshals at the upcoming St Patrick's Day parade in the Moyside town.
The recently crowned Connacht Division 1 league champions will lead the parade through the streets and the announcement has been greeted with great delight in the club according to Ballina RFC president, Adrian Bourke.
"We're all so delighted for the girls, their families, their coaches and everyone in the club. It is a great honour to lead the St Patrick's Day parade through our wonderful town and we look forward to a day when the community comes out to celebrate together. Our girls are wonderful ambassadors for our club and brilliantly illustrate the energy and enthusiasm of Ballina Rugby Club and the great community we're all blessed to be part of."
The parade will get underway at 2.30pm on Sunday, March 17, from Convent Hill.
