Mayo Meteors 54

It was the battle of the neighbours in Ballina Sports Centre on Saturday evening, as Merry Monk Ballina, defeated Mayo Meteors.

Meteors will be disappointed with their performance, as their shooting was not up to standard. However, they will still progress into a semi-final in two weeks' time.

Alex Evans impressed for the Meteors, scoring 19 points, in a game where they were without star players, Mattie McHale and Paul Freeman.

However it was Merry Monks day, with excellent displays from the experienced Ronan McGarrity, and the young Mark Cunningham, who scored an impressive 23 points.

Merry Monk were leading 47-33 at the half time interval, and ultimately pulled away in the third quarter, where they scored 21 points, to Mayo Meteors 7.
