BALLINTUBBER GAA Club have announced the appointment of former Bohola Moy Davitts player and manager Tom Mulderrig as manager of their senior football team for 2023.

The club announced the appointment today (Tuesday) following the departure of joint-managers Damien Coleman and Cathal Hallinan.

Mulderrig has been heavily involved with Mayo GAA's academy for a number of years and took charge of Mayo's Under-19 development squad this year.

He is a relative of Mick Mulderrig, who won an All-Ireland senior medal with Mayo in 1951.

In a statement, Ballintubber wished their new manager the best of luck for 2024. The club also thanked their outgoing managers for their service to the club.

"We would like to thank Cathal, Damien, their coaches and back room team for all their hard work, dedication and professionalism shown throughout the past year," Ballintubber GAA stated.

"We look forward to one day working with them again within the club and wish them all the very best for the future."

Coleman and Hallinan guided their native club to the quarter-finals of the Mayo Senior Football Championship where they were defeated by Castlebar Mitchels after extra time.

The pair were a mainstay of the Ballintubber team that won five senior county titles in 2010, 2011, 2014, 2018 and 2019, with Coleman captaining the team for the latter two victories.
