Mayo Intermediate Football Championship

Quarter-Final
Moy Davitts 4-14
Hollymount-Carramore 1-10

FOUR goals in the second half propelled Moy Davitts to a comprehensive victory over Hollymount-Carramore at a wet and windy Aghamore on Saturday evening.
The East Mayo side led from pillar to post and were six points clear at half-time, 0-10 to 0-4, after playing with the aid of the strong breeze.
The prolific Cian McHale shot five of those first half points with Brian Reape (4) and Ronan Clarke also on target as Moy Davitts attack made light of the difficult conditions.
Jimmy Byrne’s men put the game out of Hollymount-Carramore’s reach early in the third quarter with goals from Cathal Clarke and man of the match Brian Reape, who finished with 2-4.
Reape pounced for his second goal four minutes after his first to leave Moy Davitts 11 points ahead after 36 minutes and Holly-Carra were facing an impossible task.
The winners outscored their South Mayo opponents by 1-4 to 1-2 in the last 30 minutes with Ronan Clarke capping an impressive display with Moy Davitts’ fourth goal in the 52nd minute.
The match was deep in added time when Darren Coen tucked away a penalty after Dylan Morris had been fouled in the large parallelogram.
Hollymount-Carramore finished the game with 14 men after Tom Morris was booked for the second time in the closing stages.
