Mayo Nursing Home wins award at national ceremony

On Friday, May 22 at the Clayton Burlington Hotel, the leadership team from Sonas Nursing Home Belmullet proudly took to the stage to accept the prestigious Nursing Home / Residential Care Home of the Year Award for the Private Sector at the Irish Healthcare Centre Awards 2026.
The word “Sonas” means happiness in Irish, and this ethos is reflected in every aspect of life within the home. Through a culture grounded in empathy, empowerment, warmth,advocacy, energy and teamwork, Sonas Belmullet has created an environment where residents are supported not simply to live safely, but to live fully, meaningfully and with dignity.
