Mayo musicians set to play at Electric Picnic this weekend
The group will be among 800 performances at Electric Picnic this year.
Eleven young musicians from Mayo are set to take to the stage at Electric Picnic this weekend.
The talented harpists, members of the Music Generation Mayo Harp Ensemble, will perform at the Croí Stage in Stradbally on Sunday, August 30.
They will be joined by their tutor, Gráinne Hambley, who will lead the ensemble during the performance.
The Music Generation Mayo Harp Ensemble is a youth harp orchestra bringing together young musicians from across the county.
Their appearance at Electric Picnic will be a major opportunity for the young musicians to perform in front of a festival audience, while showcasing the talent coming through Mayo’s traditional music scene.
Electric Picnic will take place from today, Friday, August 28 until Sunday, August 30. The Mayo harpists will be among 800 performances this weekend.
