A Boyle Sports customer in County Mayo is celebrating a life-changing win after a €1 Lotto flutter turned into a staggering €125,000 payday.

The anonymous winner struck the modest wager in a Boyle Sports shop in the county, backing numbers 1, 5, 15, 17 and 23 to land in the main Irish Lotto draw on Saturday night.

They faced a mammoth 125,000/1 chance of celebrating success but hopes quickly turned into disbelief as each of their numbers rolled out, seeing the massive odds crumble in a matter of moments.

The lucky customer later returned to the shop to collect a jaw-dropping €125,000 profit from their €1 bet, capping off a win that will live long in the memory.

A spokesperson for Boyle Sports said: “Hats off to our Mayo customer on landing such a remarkable, life-changing win. Turning €1 into €125,000 showed extraordinary ambition and we hope the winnings help create many more unforgettable moments.”
