A Mayo businesswoman will take centre stage in Galway next month as part of International Women’s Day celebrations.
Cróna Esler, a native of Claremorris, is among the keynote speakers for the “Women Empowering Women” event taking place at the Salthill Hotel on Friday, March 6.
The event, which begins at 9.30am, is being organised by Local Enterprise Office Galway in partnership with Network Ireland Galway as part of Local Enterprise Week, running from March 2 to 6.
Ms Esler is the Owner and Managing Director of Cróna Esler PR & Communications, a public relations and communications consultancy. With more than 20 years’ experience spanning journalism, PR and strategic communications, she works with clients across a range of sectors to develop messaging, build awareness and manage reputation.

She will take part in a “Women Leading The Way” fireside chat alongside Tara Canning and Elma Carew, where the trio will share their professional journeys and practical insights aimed at empowering women in business.
Joining her on the line-up are Tara Canning, Managing Director of Dr Clare Apothecary & Clinic, whose product range is stocked in more than 150 outlets across the country, and Elma Carew, a career and wellbeing coach and fractional HR partner who works with individuals and organisations to build leadership capacity, resilience and workplace wellbeing.
The event’s guest speaker will be Ruth Mackey, Co-founder, Chief Science Officer and Chief Operating Officer of MBRYONICS Ltd. She is set to share insights from her career in advanced adaptive optics, as well as her current role in helping to lead the company’s work on cutting-edge laser communication systems that aim to transform satellite connectivity.

Senior Enterprise Development Officer with Local Enterprise Office Galway, Stephanie Colombani from Crossmolina, said the event promises to be a vibrant and energising morning.
“LEO Galway and Network Galway are coming together to celebrate International Women’s Day with what promises to be a truly uplifting and energising event. We have an excellent line-up of speakers and attendees can look forward to a vibrant morning of connection, conversation and meaningful networking with women from across Galway’s thriving business community,” she said.

The event marks a strong Mayo presence at one of Galway’s flagship International Women’s Day celebrations, highlighting the growing impact of women in business across the west of Ireland.
