A Mayo website has taken the crown for the longest .ie domain name in the country.

The business site now overtakes a Cork-based site, which held the record until 2024.

The Munster-based website, with the address corkcorkcorkcorkcorkcorkcorkcorkcorkcorkcorkcorkcorkcorkcork.ie, stood at a remarkable 63 characters in length.

Now, though, it has been overtaken by a site from the Atlantic coast.

ohthegreenandredofmayoicanseeitstillitssoftandcraggyboglandsits.ie’, with its not to the famous Saw Doctors anthem, stands at an even more remarkable 66 characters.

The new record-holding domain name is the longest of all 5,576 Mayo-based .ie sites by a distance, with 330,000 sites using the .ie domain in 2025.
