The Mayo Yearbook 2025, where we look back at the events that made the headlines across the county over the last 12 months, will be in shops across the county this week. It has been an eventful year in Mayo's news, sport, cultural and community life and our Yearbook contains a selection of stories that reflect all that is good about our wonderful county.

The year got off to a flyer on the sporting front, when Crossmolina went to Croke Park and came home with the All-Ireland Intermediate club trophy. The front page of this Yearbook shows an emotional Jordan Flynn lifting the cup on a famous day for the north Mayo men in late January.

In February, Mayo Association Dublin chose to honour the recently retired TD Michael Ring when he was chosen as the Mayo Person of the Year for 2025.

One of the big occasions of the year was undoubtedly 'The Test in the West', when Connacht Rugby rolled into Castlebar to play Munster in MacHale Park. There really was an atmosphere to savour in a packed stadium and the whole event was a major boost for the county town.

Mayo is fast becoming the adventure race capital of the country and in the Yearbook you will find reports and great pictures from the Westport Marathon, the Achill Half-Marathon and Sea2Summit. All three yearly events were hugely successful and bring thousands of visitors to the county during the months of April, July and November.

The are many more great community stories throughout this Yearbook including the continuing success of the Relay For Life fundraiser for the Irish Cancer Society and the historic day at Rice College in Westport when female students first enrolled after 160 years of education.

All this, and much, much is in the Mayo Yearbook 2025, in shops across the county this week.
