Minister for Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht, Dara Calleary, has confirmed that approval has been issued to Mayo County Council for the construction of 16 social housing units at Churchfield Park, Knock.
“I am pleased to have received confirmation from my colleague, the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage, James Browne, that he has approved funding for Mayo County Council to construct 16 social housing units at Churchfield Park."
Outlining the development, Minister Callerary said: "The development will consist of 6 x 1-bed and 10 x 2-bed homes being completed in this initial stage of construction. I want to acknowledge the contribution of my colleague Cllr John Caulfield and Mayo County Council officials for their assistance in securing this investment in Knock.
"The work of providing much-needed additional social and affordable housing, as well as supporting the construction of private development across the county, continues, and I look forward to further positive announcements in this regard in the weeks and months ahead,” he added.
