Mayo County Council has published its Gender Pay Gap Report, highlighting the percentage difference between what men and women are paid on average in the organisation, irrespective of roles or levels.

The 2025 report shows a Gender Pay Gap of -0.48% mean and -8.20% median for all employees, which indicates that Mayo County Council’s gender pay gap in 2025 is 0.48% in favour of female employees.

Mayo County Council has a total of 1,215 employees (at the reference date), 60% males and 40% females. The percentage of female employees within the ‘Upper Middle’ and ‘Upper’ renumeration quartiles is 52.46% and 43.38% respectively.

Employers with more than 50 employees in Ireland are required to publish their gender pay gap data before the end of 2025 and within five months of their reference date. Mayo County Council and all local authorities in the country had June 30 as the reference date.
