INMO ‘trolley watch’ has recorded a significant increase in figures over the past weekend at Mayo University Hospital.

Today, (Tuesday, October 28), sees a total of 26 patients waiting for beds in MUH, increasing from 9 from the last recorded figures on (Friday, October 24).

Sixteen of today's trolleys in MUH are in the emergency department, eight times that of Friday's figures. Additionally, the figures from beds elsewhere in Mayo University Hospital have jumped from seven to ten since Friday, October 24.

Of the INMO Trolley Watch figures, Mayo now has the joint 5th highest in the country.

Earlier this month, Minister of State Alan Dillon welcomed decisive action to support Mayo University Hospital. Working alongside Minister for Health Jennifer Carroll MacNeill and senior HSE management, the action looks to address the hospital’s ongoing congestion and operational challenges.
