Mayo set to see significant increase in EV charging points

Multiple new electric vehicles chargers will be installed in Mayo according to Minister for Transport, Darragh O'Brien.

It has been revealed that multiple new electric vehicle (EV) charging points will be installed in Mayo in the coming months.

The move, announced today by the Minister for Transport, Darragh O'Brien, will see ten recharging points for electric vehicles installed in places along the primary and secondary road networks.

The installations are part of a nationwide infrastructural development with 90 charging locations to be put into place. In total, 192 fast recharging points will be installed as part of a ten-million-euro allocation to support grants.

The Mayo locations are as follows.

- Foxford Woolen Mills

- Moloney's Supervalu, Ballina

- Carabine's Centra, Bangor Erris

- Doherty's Service Station, Mulranny

- O'Donnell's Centra, Crossmolina

- Kelly's Mace, Tripside

- Doherty's Mulranny Service Station

- Nolan's Supervaly, Ballyhaunis

- Top Oil, Ballygaddy

- Walsh's Centra, Kilmaine

Minister O'Brien spoke of the importance of the upgrade in the wake of the announcement.

"This investment marks an important step in giving people the assurance that switching to electric is not only the right choice for the environment, but also a practical one for their daily journeys," he stated.
