Aadya Srivastava joins the likes of Roz Purcell, Joana Copper, Aishah Akorede, and Sofia Labus in being crowned Miss Universe Ireland.
Mayo woman Aadya Srivastava was toasting an incredible achievement on Saturday, October 4, when she received the honour of being crowned Miss Universe Ireland of 2025.
Aadya, who lives in Cross, was crowned at a stunning ceremony in the Hilton Hotel in Dublin over the weekend, at an event which saw contestants from all across Ireland converge in a bid to take away the coveted title.
The 18-year-old law student beat off strong competition to see her crowned ahead of Natalia Gradzka and Maksuda Akhter (both from Dublin) in the final three.
Aadya was full of emotion and referenced her pride in her Indian roots as she accepted the esteemed accolade.
"This win is so special to me, and I really wasn’t expecting it all because all of the girls here had such amazing and inspirational stories," she stated. "As a proud Irish woman of Indian heritage, I want the opportunity to amplify the voices of diversity and resilience and be an advocate for justice and compassion.”
Sofia Labus, the 2024 Miss Universe Ireland, crowned Aadya in a touching moment on the stage in Dublin.
The 2025 Miss Universe Ireland will go on to represent the country at Miss Universe International, which will take place in Bangkok on Monday, November 24.
No Irish person has ever won the competition outright. However, Aadya will be hoping to break the mould and reach the top ten, following in the footsteps of Roz Purcell in 2010, and potentially win the crown from Victoria Kjær Theilvig.
