‘Voices of the Centenaries’ is set to take place in Ballintubber Abbey on November 9 at 6pm.  Local ensemble ‘Resurgam’ will perform as part of Mayo County Council’s Commemorative Programme 2025. The music group ‘Resurgam’ was founded in 2003 by Mark Duley and produces music of the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. Many of the group members have parallel careers as international soloists.

The performance will be led by choral specialist Mark Duley and will feature music from ‘Resurgam’ singers: Aisling Kenny (soprano), Steve Wallace (alto), Rory Lynch (tenor), and William Gaunt (bass). Galway-based chamber choir Collegium, alongside musicians Malcolm Proud (organ) and Siobhán Armstrong (harp), will also perform on the evening.

The ancient architecture of Ballintubber Abbey provides unique acoustics for live performances, and it has been host to many musical events over the years.

The event is free of charge. Booking is required and tickets are available on Eventbrite under ‘Voices of the Centenaries at Ballintubber Abbey’.

This event is funded by the Commemorations Unit of the Department Culture, Communication and Sport.
