BREAKING: Man critically injured after road crash in the west of Ireland

A man has been critically injured in a road accident in Co Mayo.

The single-vehicle collision took place at Creggaunbaun, Louisburgh on Sunday at approximately 12:30pm.

According to Gardaí, the man, aged in his 60s, was riding a motorcycle when the incident occured.

He was brought by air ambulance to University Hospital Galway, where he is understood to be in a critical condition.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses of the incident to come forward.

They are also appealing for any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) who were travelling in the area between 12pm and 1pm to make it available to Gardaí.
