A Mayo secondary school is celebrating today (Tuesday, September 16), having been handed prestigious global recognition by one of the world's largest technology companies.
Sancta Maria College, Louisburgh, has been recognised as an Apple Distinguished School, placing it in an elite group of leading schools across the globe.
The recognition, which runs for the next three years, recognises the school's innovation in using Apple's technology in their teaching and learning.

Áine Moran, the principal of Sancta Maria College, expressed her delight at the decision.
“Technology is no longer an add-on in education; it is essential, especially with the reforms of the Junior Cycle and Senior Cycle," she stated.
