The first Climate Café will open its doors on Saturday, September 27 from 11.30am to 1.00pm at the Friary House in Ballyhaunis.
The Climate Café is a community led, informal and welcoming space where people are free to join conversations on sustainability, the climate crisis and what it means on a local level.
The organisers say the Climate Café is all about community: “The Cafés offer a safe and inclusive space where people can talk openly, share knowledge, and support each other in thinking about the challenges we face – and the opportunities for positive change.”

Guest speakers will be invited each month to share short talks of local interest. These talks are set to spark conversations and encourage people to get involved in existing initiatives.
The event is free and open to the public. The next two climate cafés will be held at the same venue on October 18 to mark Climate Action Week and November 22, 2025. For more information, visit Climate Café Connacht on Facebook: climatecafeconnacht.
