Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following the burglary of a shop in East Mayo

Gardaí received report that at approximately 4:15am two men had forced entry into the premises and fled with a quantity of cigarettes.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following the burglary of a shop in Foxford in the early hours of yesterday morning, Monday, August 25.

Gardaí received a report that at approximately 4.15am two men had forced entry into the premises and fled with a quantity of cigarettes.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have information on this incident to contact them.

Gardaí are particularly interested in speaking to anyone who was in the Pontoon Road, Lahardane and Crossmolina areas that saw anything out of the ordinary. It is believed that the two suspects may have been travelling on foot for a time.

Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area between 4am and 8am this morning are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Ballina Garda Station on 096 20560 the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station. Enquiries are currently ongoing.
