Two Mayo Bars have secured national glory at the recent Irish Bar of the Year Awards.
The Porter House in Westport has been voted best Traditional Bar of the Year at the 2025 Irish Bar of the Year Awards.
The popular pub which is situated in the West Mayo town has previously won awards in the past. With live music seven days a week, the public house which is managed by local business man Joe O’Malley is always a popular pick for locals and tourists.
Another Mayo establishment also scooped an award at the Irish Bar of the Year Awards as the Prince of Wales Bar at Ashford Castle secured second place in the Five Star Hotel Bar of the Year category.
The awards recognised the best that the 32 counties of Ireland have to offer in hospitality, with 27 categories. The event took place on Monday, August 18, at the Clayton Hotel on the Burlington Road. The winners were announced at a gala awards ceremony hosted by Anton Savage. The awards are seen as the ultimate recognition for businesses and individuals in the licensing industry.
