Six Mayo organisations have been revealed as the county representatives in the National Lottery Good Causes Awards.
The awards aim to assist and highlight the good work done by organisations around the island of Ireland, and aim to distribute almost 30 per cent of all funds generated by those playing the national lottery.

There is a potential total of €35,000 on the line for the overall national winner, with €10,000 going to the winner of each of the seven categories. There is also an individual prize available for the ‘Hero of the Year’, who will receive €5,000.
The six clubs, groups, and organisations in County Mayo will now compete for a place in the National Finals.
They are as follows:
Heritage - Knock Museum
Sport - Dragon Boat Club Ballina
Youth - Western Care Association (Count Me In)
Health and Wellbeing - Kinaffe Community Garden
Arts/Culture - Westport Folk and Bluegrass Festival

The finals, for the successful groups, will take place on Saturday, October 18, in Killashee House hotel, Naas.
