A Mayo RTE star has stunned fans of her RTE Radio One show as she performed alongside her brother Kevin and dad Tom on the streets of Westport.

Louise Duffy, a Crossmolina native, who presents her own show weekdays on RTE Radio One, was broadcasting live from Westport for the Westport Folk and Bluegrass Festival.

A clip of Louise singing while her brother played mandolin and her father played guitar was shared on social media, much to the delight of fans.

The post read: "Ladies and gentlemen - the Duffy family band! It was so special to be joined by Louise’s brother Kevin and dad Tom for a rendition of the bluegrass classic ‘I’ll Fly Away’ in Westport today. A woman of many talents, our Louise Duffy."

Another RTE presenter, Sarah McInerney, described the clip as "beautiful."

Speaking on her show on Friday, Louise said: “We’re at home in Mayo today coming to you live from the Octagon in Westport, right across from the Wyatt, beside Christy’s Café and we are here for a special reason to celebrate the Westport Folk and Bluegrass Festival!

“Westport is somewhere we'd be all the time, and it's just such a great place.”

She later spoke to the Mayo News about the festival and its importance on the local calendar. You can read that full story here.
