Popular Mayo beach named in world's top fifty

Keem Beach has stood out to reviewers for its raw natural beauty and blue waters

A well-known and loved Mayo beach has made its mark globally after being named in the top fifty of the world's best beaches

Coming in at number 48, Keem Beach in Achill has stood out to reviewers for its raw natural beauty and blue waters, which resembles those found in more tropical locations.

The judges commented, "Tucked away on Achill Island, Keem Beach is free from large developments, allowing it to remain unspoiled and serene. What also makes Keem Beach stand out is its horseshoe-shaped bay, surrounded by towering cliffs and picturesque hills, creating calmer waters that are ideal for swimming in the summer.
