A status yellow rain warning from Met Éireann is in place for Mayo during Easter week

Mayo looks set for a spell of heavy rainfall over the course of Good Friday, as Met Éireann have issued a status yellow rain warning for the county.

The weather warning will come into effect tomorrow morning (Friday, April 18), at 6am, and will last for 15 hours until 9 am on Friday night.

The spells of rain across the county will be expected to turn heavy at times, with a risk of localised flooding expected in Mayo as well as Galway.

Kerry and Cork have also been issued with a warning between 11pm today (Thursday, April 17) and 12 noon tomorrow, while the country’s South-East is expected to be affected between 6am on Friday until 6am on Saturday.
