The latest MyHome Property Price Report has found that the average median asking price for a house in Mayo stands at €195,000
THE latest MyHome Property Price Report has ranked Mayo as the joint third-most affordable county in Ireland to purchase a house.
The report shows that the median asking price for a house in the county in Quarter 1 of 2025 was €195,000. This was on a par with both Sligo and Roscommon. Only Leitrim (€182,450) and Longford (€149,975) recorded cheaper median asking prices in the survey.
While house prices in Mayo have risen by €6,500 in a year, asking prices for a three-bedroom semi-detached house in the county fell by €4,000 over the quarter to €171,000.
Meanwhile, the asking price for a four-bedroom semi-detached house in Mayo fell €2,500 over the quarter to €227,000 - an increase of €25,000 compared to this time last year.
There were 416 properties for sale in Mayo at the end of Q1 2025 – a decrease of 7 percent over the quarter.
The average time for a property to go sale agreed in the county after being placed up for sale now stands at over four months.
